Sword blades are made of 440C high
carbon steel, stainless steel and some
with zinc alloys. Most swords are made
with a traditional tang design, where
the "handed" portion of the blade is
hammered for fitting of a handle piece,
instead of making the sword and its
handle fit together as separate pieces
of metal.
